The
PUPR Ministry is completing the preservation and widening of the Samosir Island
Ring Road.
The Ministry
of Public Works and Public Housing ( PUPR ) is completing preservation and
widening of the 123 Kilometer Samosir Island Road .
Handling the
road will improve connectivity and support the National Tourism Strategic Area
(KSPN) of Lake Toba as one of the 10 new Bali developed by the government.
Of the 10
KSPN priorities set as New Bali, we focus on four tourist destinations namely
Borobudur, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, and one of them is Lake Toba KSPN,"
said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono some time ago. The development of this place, ofcourse need the local Medan travel agency supporting to create and market the Medan lake toba tour package.
Road
preservation and widening is carried out through the Medan National Road
Implementation Center (BBPJN) II, DG of Highways in stages since 2016 and is
targeted for completion in 2019.
Availability
of road infrastructure with good conditions will make it easier for tourists to
reach various tourist locations on Samosir Island, such as the Batak Museum in
Tomok, Tiga Danau, and Tano Ponggol.
The work is
divided into two packages namely Package 1 Preservation and Widening of Jalan
Pangururan - Ambarita - Tomok - Onan Runggu along 75.90 Km with a multi-year
contract value of Rp 367.21 billion.
Currently
the physical progress of work has reached 63.01%, with the contractor PT. PP
and PT. Seneca.
Then,
Package 2 Preservation and Widening of the Jalan Tele - Pangururan - Nainggolan
- Onan Runggu section along 68.43 Km consisting of widening activities along
47.10 Km and maintenance along 21.33 Km with a budget of Rp 159.24 billion and
will be completed also in December 2019.
Until now,
overall physical progress has reached 82.35% by the contractor PT. Gunakarya,
PT. Tunas and PT. Kurnia (Joint Operation).
The work of
preservation and widening of the Samosir Island Ring Road also includes the
construction of cliff retaining walls to reduce the risk of landslides around
roads. Besides that the road is also equipped with road shoulder and water
channel.
Other
support is the construction of a 450 meter Tano Ponggol Bridge to replace the
old bridge.
This bridge
will later become the new tourism icon of Lake Toba because in addition to its
artistic design, the bottom of the bridge will be able to be passed by tourist
vessels so that the widening and deepening is carried out by the Sumatra II
River Basin (DGS), Directorate General of Water Resources (SDA).
At present,
the Tano Ponggol groove has an average width of 25 m in shallow conditions and
in some parts it is narrowed to just 8 meters. Alur Tano Ponggol will be
expanded to 80 m along 1.5 Km.
Meanwhile,
for deepening work, excavation will be carried out as deep as 5 m or move the
land as much as 169,914 m3 of land to obtain a basic elevation of the groove at
807 asl.
This
employment contract starts in December 2017 and will be completed in December
2019 with a budget of Rp. 320 billion. On the left and right side will use
steel sheet pile to maintain the strength of the embankment,
